What do you pair with Martin de Candre? I am looking for suggestions for both the Original scent and the Fougere. Balms, Splashes, EdT, etc.

For the Fougere, I've tried CRSW Fougere Moderne balm and B&M Fougere Classique. I probably prefer the B&M slightly, but I am looking to more closely match the MdC scent.

For the MdC Original, I've not actually tried anything. I've seen CRSW Savon No. 1 recommended. Has anyone tried this? Any other recommendations?

Myrsol Agua Balsamica pairs nicely with the original scented MdC.

I've paired L'occitane Cade with MdC original. I've also heard L'occitane L'occitan is a better match since it is Lavender.

For Fougere I don't really have a good match.

I don't find that the scent lingers past the shave so I don't worry about pairing.

For the Fougere I think IMO the Penhaligons English Fern is AMAZING!! One of my favorite combos.

It really doesn't matter what you pair with your shaving soap, because you wash it off apply alum and balm or moisturiser, what's more important what balm or moisturiser you pair with your Edt or Edp.

I agree.   The scent is subtle and it really does not linger.  I generally use Pro Raso Green shave balm, but I have used others, and none conflict with the MdC.

For the regular scented MdC I would use Myrsol Agua Balsamica. The scent paired perfectly, but the aftershave really didn't do anything for me.

For the Fougère I would use B&M Fougère Classique Tonique & follow that with Azzaro Pour Homme EdT.

Some really good suggestions here, thank you. I bit the bullet and bought some Penhalington's English Fern. Hope I like it, because that stuff is not cheap!

I think I'll also pick up some Myrsol Agua Baslmica. I just don't want to pull the trigger on an order from Bull Goose until I have enough items to get free shipping. Biggrin

Agree. That was my favorite combo. Unfortunately, there is something in both of them that my skin doesn't like. I get really bad contact dermatitis from both of them.  Huh

Maybe it's the thymol. Thyme can be a bit harsh to the skin for some people, even in low concentration under dilution.

Agree with everyone who said Agua Balsamico. If I want something a little different, I use PdP balm, which also pairs nicely. Has anyone tried the LPL aftershave? Seems like it would be a great pairing with MdC.

I own and have used the LPL aftershave. As much as I love LPL soaps, the aftershave is just ok for me. The scent while not bad, doesn't "wow" me.
