Today I had the second shave with this soap. I used it also last night. The soap is amazing. The texture of this soap is hard, you can't press it with your fingers, it's not like LPL for example. The scent is intense, a perfect mix of lavender and orange essential oils. The orange matches beautifully with the lavender, though lavender is a bit stronger and more noticeable. During the shave, the orange comes in the surface along with a nice powdery scent.

The performance of this soap left me speechless. Great protection, the blade was sliding easily, leaving the skin smooth and hydrated. The post shave feeling is one of the best, if not the best. After trying this soap, I'm not sure if Nuavia has the best post shave feeling and that means a lot.

It's super easy to lather, just a few swirls and you'll have a rich, gliding and protective lather for a perfect shave.

I'm so amazed! Of course I recommend it to everyone, I'm sure you won't get disappointed, this soap performs like a champion. Vive la France!

Sounds great! I'm waiting for this formulation (and jar) to be made with donkey milk, as in the previous SdV sticks.

It has donkey milk, probably the powdery scent comes from it!

I thought it did too when I saw the picture of the donkey on the front in the website picture, but why is it not in the ingredients list?

The vendor says it has, in his ingredients list there's the asinae lac before the palm kernel acid. I think the ingredients list on the label is wrong, because if it hadn't, they wouldn't have put a donkey's picture.

Hmmm. This is really odd. I have a tendency to trust the actual ingredients list. Wouldn't they be required to list it according to EU requirements?

Either way, this issue is what has kept me away from that particular formulation. Out of curiosity, how much do they charge for shipping to the US (if anyone from the US has ordered direct)?

From SdV site:

Rasage solide Lavande Orange

Savon de rasage solide à l'huile essentielle de lavande et d'orange et au lait d'ânesse

I believe them. They forgot to add it.

Hmmm. Weird. Thanks for checking on this. I'm curious what the percentage is, and where it would rank if it were included on the ingredients list (as in, is the content of donkey milk significant or not?). Either way, the great post-shave you mention is probably attributable to the donkey milk, because the original SdBB is not particularly moisturizing in terms of post-shave.

Hopefully Phil will carry this version so I don't have to order direct from the site.

I used this soap for a few months now. It smells great and in my opinion it outperforms the SdM (the only other soap  that I own, which contains donkey milk) in both shaving and post-shave departments.

Have you used exactly this version or the previous? Beating SdM is a very high compliment.

That's basically my instinct lol. I just reviewed Savonniere du Bon Berger and liked it, but felt that the post-shave was rather neutral. If I could combine the post-shave of SdM with the in-shave slickness of Bon Berger (perhaps with more residual slickness), I'd be a very happy camper indeed.

That's what I was wondering and have been trying to find out for a few hours now. I don't think their website ships to the US.

They do ship to US, I bought my Savonnerie du bon berger direct from them.

Is there some trick to this? I can't switch the country from France to anything else.
