Thanks to brothers, I am now the proud owner of PdP #63 shaving soap.  When I opened the tin yesterday afternoon, I thought I recognized the scent but could not place it.  Last night I figured it out.  PdP #63 is a dead ringer for Zino Davidoff edt and Truefit & Hill Spanish Leather edt.  Nice stuff!

I own both the original and the #63. In fact, I believe the original was my first French soap. The performance is very good on these soaps, but for me the original, once lathered the scent faded to almost imperceptible. The #63 scent I liked enough to buy the balm.

Pre de Provence is underrated.  The original has a clean and fresh sage/rosemary scent and good performance.  As hard as it is, it lasts a very long time.  No 63 is available on Amazon for only $12.39 now.  I doubt if there is a better value available in shaving soap right now:  good scent and performance to go with low initial price and insanely low cost per shave.

Original smells like hotel soap from the 90s and 00s to me.

The new one smells like spiced plum from the colonial era.

Love this scent.  If you do like it, try the bath soap.  Quadruple milled and lasts forever, I mean forever, and smells great the whole time.

I do enjoy the scent, especially in the bath soap. It comes in a very large bar that seems to last forever.

I wish the soap came in a larger tin. I'm afraid some of my larger brushes would not fit. I bought the balm, which smells fantastic.

'90s and 00s'- 24  When you've put some miles on your life odometer those years become a sidetrip. PdP is an old standard I always meant to try and never got around to- until serendipity this morning thanks to a generous PIf that arrived yesterday. I like it. We are truly blessed with such incredible soaps the bar- or is it puck? keeps getting raised and we foolishly don't jump on some classics.

Agree!  I am having a hard time reverting to small tin lathering skills after using the 4" sizes of CRSW and B&M.  But the #63 is certainly worth it!

I have a couple of 24mm brushes that have survived the culling. I imagine they would fit Smile.
