Well my 1991 Sharp Carousel II microwave oven is starting to slow down. We received it as a wedding gift and I thought it would last forever, but I can tell that It take s a little longer to warm foods. So I'm faced with the sad prospect of having to replace this microwave.
I've had incredible luck with appliances over the years. I"m still using a 1985 Black and Decker toaster oven and a washing machine that I bought second hand for $50 in the late 80's, both are still going strong.
We use Microwaves almost exclusively to reheat foods and would be looking for a counter top model. We would have no use for a convection/microwave oven.
Have you recently bought a new counter top microwave that you really like? I'm interested in your experiences.

LOL
The Toaster oven is, shall we say, a bit beat up. I keep it because I'm a fan of well engineered consumer products, which seem to have been too often re-engineered to use the absolute thinnest, cheapest parts over the last 10-15 years.
Thanks for the heads-up on Samsung.

You better hope your toaster keeps working after talking about it. Hee hee.
That's funny.
I didn't own a microwave oven until this one, so I was 30 years old. I only saw people using the gadget to make popcorn (not very good popcorn IMO. As someone who likes to eat good food (home made, healthy, tasty), we tend to batch cook (cooking when we have time and freezing). The microwave had proven very handy at times.
Like marriage, when I was young I thought I had little use for it but learned better.
