What if he bought the king cobra from someone else for 300? Not saying this particular post is the case, though. Seems like a difficult rule to enforce.

This ad was posted prior to the rule being instituted so it is grandfathered.
But...to answer the question. The new rule states retail price. This eliminates the what if and makes the ads much easier to moderate.

That could be argued, but then the rule would be pointless as it could always be said that the item was bought second hand for just above the price the person is asking. It's definitely difficult to enforce but it will have to be strictly followed for it to have any effect.

So a good toggle won't break the bank then?

So a good toggle won't break the bank then?. It's a good rule, but like someone else stated, selling a toggle won't go for retail, so wouldn't the market determine what is fair? If people find the price unfair, they just don't have to buy it. The seller can adjust as needed.
The rule does not include vintage items.

Price gouging on this site infuriates me, but let's give the seller a fair shake and look at the whole picture:
$300.00 - Sale price
$9.00 - Paypal Fees
$6.80 - USPS Priority Flat-Rate Box
$4.60 - $300 shipping insurance
$239.99 - Original purchase price
$19.32 - Sales Tax (Mesa, AZ)
$20.29 - Total Profit
Per his profile, we can assume that the seller is a resident of Mesa, AZ, and that per Arizona State law he will be paying the sales tax on Internet purchases.
The seller has contributed to discussion in the community in the past. It is not my place to judge whether or not the amount in question constitutes taking advantage of his friends.
I was a little sad that he chose to ignore my question, twice, but he is under no obligation to satisfy my curiosity about razors.

I did not mean to ignore your question as I am at work currently . Yes it is from recent batch. Purchased as a back up and decided I wanted to get a new brush instead.

I'm merely doing simple math to highlight that the seller's "price gouging" only amounts to around $20. If you think that is too much, I would encourage you to PM the seller, or message a moderator, but I don't think publicly insulting him or myself is within the spirit of the site.
I like to think of us as a group of friends. I invite you to join us, brother!

I am 100% on the seller's side. Your constant comments on the pricing of items available for sale has grown tiresome. This seller is taking advantage of no one.
