Ok fellas, I am HOOKED on Dr Selby..  I have only used this soap for the last 2 weeks with Floid Blue as a follow up and it it pure bliss.  This soap has a classic scent and for the price it's a phenomenal deal.  For you straight guys this stuff is SUPER slick..!!  I am blown away this does not have a cult following like Tabac and so on.  If you can I highly recommend this soap.

Ha Tappan! Maybe there are some closet users out thereSmile I think it's a super performer at a great price. I need to try a straight shave with it.

I am wholeheartedly agreeing with Nevada Red! Even my latest acquisition of Nuavia Rossa (and soon to arrive Nuavia Blu) could not "squeeze" Dr. Selby out of my den. It works wonders regardless of which razor I use - a straight from wedge to full hollow, a Mongoose B3 with either of the three different types of blades I have, a vintage Gillette, or a modern Wolfman, ATT, and Pils.

VERY IMPRESSIVE!

I'm always on the lookout for recommended soaps and creams that are unknown to me. I like variety in my den, so it sounds like I need to give this one a try, thanks Tappan!

I really enjoy this soap too. I also love the classic old school and beautiful container. My wife even commented on how cool this soap looks and she has never praised the looks of any soap before.
Definitely a hidden gem.

It's ok. Good performance with a meh scent. If I liked the scent more I would probably still use it. Now it just sits around.

Yep, it is green but my old burnt out nose does not detect lavender.   I sure like the way it lathers and the after shave protection feels pretty good.  Sure glad I bought some.

The reviews on Bullgoose both say it's a unique scent.

So many different lavenders out there. Can you relate it to anything?

I'm interested. I'm strangely drawn to the bowl. So retro looking. Is it nice or merely functional? Like would you keep it to reuse it or pitch it when it's empty?

I am really the wrong person to ask about scents.  As for as the bowl, it is plastic and I plan on keeping mine when it is empty.

Thank you Johnny.

I appreciate it. If the bowl is nice enough to keep it really is a bargain at $15 for sure then!!

I am asking everyone else too.

I've had this in my cart on a few sites at least 10 times over the last several years and always back out. Not sure why, love the fact that it looks like a gelatin desert circa 1973, just never pull the trigger...
