Rumours spread in the Portuguese forum that the new Musgo Real products, presented here by Phil, were already available at their factory shop in Fajozes, Vila do Conde (northern Portugal).
A friend of mine lives nearby, went to the factory shop and was able to buy the new shaving soap! Also some new creams with vintage packaging, and one of the Musgo Real creams with the new scent. So, soon these new goodies will be coming my way!
:yho:
Here's the photos (by bleddyn, also a member here):
The new soap:
Side package, in both Portuguese and English:
Ingredients list:
The new Confiança creams with vintage package ("Pó de sabão" e "Pó de sabão Couraça"), despite being creams, both refer to the type of products ("powder shaving soaps") they use to sell decades ago, in the 40's or so. But they are creams, no doubt about it; also the new soap and a tub of the new Musgo Real "Oak Moss" shaving cream:
As soon as I receive and test this new goodies, I'll let you know what I think about them.

Unfortunately, the old Musgo Real Shave Stick, as you can see here, doesn't have a formulation on it... understandable, since it is probably more than 50 or 60's years old!

Who knows? Maybe in the near future.
I believe they are just waiting to see how will the market react to this new product before they launch it with several scents.
The price of the soap was quite a nice surprise!

Ah well! Since it is that old, I guess we can state with reasonable confidence that the stick was tallow based. Still, I like the scent of the regular cream. Hopefully, this soap will work well.

I'm looking forward to receive it. I should pick it up today at the post office.
At the Portuguese forum, this soap have become quite controversial. Only a few members had already tried it. Some can really lather it, and some others don't. And it seems to be easier to lather with a boar brush.
I will report as soon as I've tried it.

Yohann, I can say with 100% confidence that the stick is tallow based. I met the person who worked in Ach.Brito for many years and made the old shaving soap stick with tallow.
It's strange why they switched to veggie.
