You guys ever see any chubby 1s in Manchurian? Are they rare because most opt for chubby 2 and 3 or some other reason?

My first ever Simpson Manchurian was a CH1. I purchased it in 2011. The handle is extremely small and as the knot is similar to a Duke 3, this larger handle is generally considered the better option. I eventually sold my CH1 due to lack of use. I certainly haven't seen any new CH1 brushes for sale on the website or social media.

Yeah, if I'm not mistaken I did a google search and found your old listing lol. Might be wrong but I think that may have been your old listing. Well for me they are perfect, I have one in super and love it. I may find one sooner or later no rush.

I sold it on eBay. I had Mark custom engrave my name on the reverse of the handle, which isn't the best of ideas if you want to sell at a later date. Fortunately, someone also named David bought it. Smile

OMG, is that the Duke 3 3-Band SiLVERTiP that Mark also custom made for me, Dave, or did he also make one for you, too? I sold mine at the same time as the CH1.

This is your old brush, I remember seeing it on eBay and I knew it was yours and couldn't buy it fast enough.  It is by far my favorite modern Simpson 3-band brush.

Ahh, I hadn't realised. Is it behaving itself? I wrote that it lost a hair or two per shave.
I believe there is only one other similar haired brush in a Duke 3 handle.

I haven't noticed anything abnormal, but with nearly 100 brushes in my collection it hasn't seen a ton of usage.

I have a Chubby 1 Manchurian getting delivered this week. I am extatic. I was approached by someone who was kind enough to part with it. Can't really believe that happened. I'm pretty lucky. Something nice to add to my collection. My collection has started to head to a point where it takes me a while to find what I am looking for. I have a Duke 3 and really enjoy it but it sheds like the clappers. I bought it from someone on the competitor forum. Really do enjoy it but can't really use it anymore sheds a dozen hairs per shave. So it's basically a paper weight now real shame.

Dave, wanted to say thank you for the Chubby 1 super i got from you. Stopped shedding it lost maybe 10 hairs all within a short amount of time and then just stopped. My go to brush now and absolutely love it. Perfect for me. Thanks very much. If you ever find yourself letting go of any smaller brushes you know who to contact lol. Just wanted to say I love the Chubby 1 supper you sent my way and it does not shed anymore. Really Awesome. Marc

Just bought my first Simpson a few moments ago!  Cheers

Anyone know what is going on with Simpson's website? It gives a website not found error.

What did you get?

Mark said they were upgrading the website not long ago. Maybe they're doing that? Maybe just a glitch?

Do they generally respond to customer service questions. Got kind of a tricky issue and I'm not going to put an hour into an email if they don't respond. I have inexperience with them directly.

Thanks

Simpson has superb customer service. You can email Mark Watterson with confidence. He'll reply very quickly, assuming he's not on holiday at the moment as it's peak holiday season. Even if he is, someone will acknowledge you.

edit....PM sent.

Zac, the last two CH2 brushes I bought were also more hybrid bulb than hybrid fan of previous years. I also found the knots slightly tighter, presumably because of this.
