Hi Gents

i am Lionel, 40 yo and i live in the south-west France nearby Toulouse (here: https://goo.gl/maps/Mn9Qm1ReWRP2).

I've discovered the pleasure of wet shaving two years ago or so thanks to an article in a french newspapers. I've been very fortunate since i could try and buy several razors, soaps, brushes and blades and keep the only ones that work well for me, guided by the posts i could find here and in french / spanish fora.

My razors: ATT H1 & H2, LASSCo BBS-1, Cobra razor, a revamped Gillette 1962 Slim Adjustable Safety Razor H2 * Rhodium and Feather AS-D2. My next purchase will be a SB Wolfman' in bronze with 0.86 mm blade gap (ordered mid june 2015). I like "agressive" stainless razors, as you can read.

My two brushes: Thäter 2 band (in black) and Thäter 3 band (in plexi)

My favorite soaps: Saponificio Varesino, Soap Commander, Cold River Soap Works, Martin de Candre, Klar Cabinet, LASSCo soaps. I like also Nanny Silly Soaps, Tabac, Wickham Soaps.

My favorite blades: Feather, Polsilver, Triton R3 and Astra superior platinum.

My favorite after shaves: Myrsol range, Floïd Menthol, Proraso Eucalyptus.

I am following this forum for a little while now and decided today to introduce myself to thank you all for sharing your discoveries with everyone (without you, i would never had the pleasure to wet shave).

Sorry for my english (it's not my mother tongue) but the funniest is when i speak with my french accent... :-)

Bienvenue Lionel! ca va? Je suis Chris. Je parle en peu francais. I learned it in a private Anglican church school from a teacher who had a Hungarian accent. I had to retrain my accent in University and enjoyed reading Antoine de Saint-Exupery, Francois Villon, Voltaire. On the Fete Nacional I sing Le Boudin at sunrise to wake up my neighbors and play Edith Piaf all day drinking a annual bottle of Chateau Neuf du Pape avec brie and un baquette. I love my French shaving soaps and vintage bottle of Guerlain Imperiale.

Hello friends

Thank you all for your kind words and for welcoming me in your wet shaving community.

Chris, thanks for your message. You are right that a matured Brie cheese with a tender bread-baguette, moreover enjoyed with a good bottle of aged red wine (a côte du rhone as Chateau Neuf du Pape or Bourgogne), is one of the little treasures that life can offer. Nearby where i live in the southwest, there is an endemic variety of truffle mushroom (the "black truffle" which is traded 1000 EUR / 1 kg or 1100 USD / 35 onces on the local markets). Local cheesemongers, particularly for Christmas diners, make Brie stuffed inside with tiny chips of black truffles (it goes down like the Baby Jesus in velvet pants :-) ).

I like Guerlain parfumes as well (mine and my definitively favorite one is Homme Idéal in Eau de Parfum and Cologne, which is lighter for summer period). I appreciate Habit Rouge as well. The one that offer to my wife is La Petite Robe Noire. Taste it if you can.
