Hello everyone.  I am a new member from Phoenix.  I am new to wet shaving and I am just trying to gather as much information as possible before I start my journey.  I finally decided that I was not going to pay the money that they are asking for a disposable cartridge just so I could get an irritating shave.  I am looking forward to slowing down and turning this from a chore that I despise to an experience that I enjoy.

Welcome!  Like you, I was using expensive cartridge razors for years, which left my skin irritated and striped.  You are making a good move away from all that!  Smile

Welcome from the East Valley! Head over to Maggard Razors (.Com) for their starter kit. The razor is well regarded and I just bought the same synthetic brush that is included and I'm impressed. And at $30 with soap and blades it's a bargain.

You can also check Craigslist there are some Razors for sale on there that seem good for starters, although for the travel sized one you would want a different handle in my opinion.
