Another lovely shaving soap from UK,the Geo F. Trumper Almond, which scent reminds me of roses, but not almond at all!

I got this shaving soap from http://www.bullgooseshaving.net and Im really glad I did.I just dont care anymore for sweet/bitter almond scents, like most of the Italian shaving soap contains (Cella or P160 style) so D.R. Harris and Geo F. Trumper offers two almond scent shaving soaps which are very different than those Italian ones (scent wise speaking).
The soap refill comes on a carboarb box and has a pink color, close to the rose one,as you can see in this pic :
This soap has different ingredients than the Rose and Violet shaving soaps, and I understand than the same than the current Limes one.Its a Palm Oil based shaving soap, with Stearic Acid,as you can read :
And is it possible to make thick, stable lather, out of this shaving soap? Here is a pic with a Muhle silvertip fibre brush :
Yes,this is a thick lather, like the one I can get from some other Palm Oil based made in UK shaving soaps, like Floris Elite (one of the versions),Plisson or even the Truefitt and Hill one.
Good thick,"greasy",lather, which leaves my skin not dry at all.Maybe it has less slick than the Rose/Violet shaving soaps, but those two has different formulations.
The scent is another different story : while D.R. Harris almond shaving soap has a scent which remind me of "wet soil" after a storm, this one reminds me of roses...yes,I have said so,roses. Its not like the Geo F. Trumper Rose shaving soap, but has a rosy scent which is very nice. The scent its not very powerful either, and kind of the floral/sweet side.
Another soap to make me happy!

I love GFT soaps. Haven't tried Plisson, et al yet. Probably won't, have too many as is.
Completely agree about the rose smell. It doesn't remind me of almond at all. It's more like a less "in your face" GFT rose. A pleasant smell to be sure, but not exactly what I imagined almond would smell like.

Yes,I have the same feeling than you do about its scent and the rose notes are definitely there.

I just acquired this soap in a trade with another fine member here at the Nook. Within 5 minutes of opening up the package I was sending him a PM asking if he mistakenly put a rose puck in the almond box. He very politely said that he was sure it was the almond and that it is regularly described as a floral. So I went searching and found this thread and now it all makes sense. Well not all of it, how can they call this an almond soap when it smells of rose so strongly and even has a pink hue?

Is the scent on the actual rose soap really over the top and strong?
To me it smells of the old rose scented yardley hand soaps

It's quite possibly my strongest scent next to TOBS Sandalwood.
