Actually a really good choice considering the parameters.

I agree with this. I own or have owned every grade of Simpson hair and the softness of the Chubby 2 synthetic would be ideal for sensitive skin. That softness comes with nice backbone for face lathering and that "wall of badger" feel unique to the Chubby 2.

I was expecting Super, but had forgotten about synthetic.
Here's a dumb question, is their Super 2-band or 3-band?
Super Badger, speaking from current stock is only 3 band type badger the Simpson 2 band is currently under the 'SiLVERTiP' naming.

Thanks for that.
How do these two compare?

I've not experienced the current 3 band Super Badger but I have tried a Somerset 3 band Super Badger (Emperor 3), my experience was that it had some facial sensation, not completely velvety soft like the Simpson 2 band Super/Silvertip, the feel isn't anything bad but maybe my experience was a batch variation. My preference would be either Simpson 2 band Super or SiLVERTiP for a soft brush, given that its bit 'easier' to get the current SiLVERTiP by contacting Mark than to sit around and wait for a 2 band Super to show up (there's always WTB).
Haven't tried the CH2 Synth yet, but to the touch the synthetic was soft but in use the one I used wasn't my cup of tea... maybe a CH2 would be better implementation of a synthetic fiber brush

Thanks for the pics, I like the shape of the knot a lot. More fan than bulb.

Simpson Chubby 2 3-Band Best, especially pre 2013 batch.
Simpson Chubby 2 3-Band Super
All these have soft tips and do not feel harsh on the face at all.
At least not mine
How do you like the current 2-band Silvertip?
Compared to Thater 2-band in fan.

I prefer my Thäter 28 mm bulb 2-band slightly over the Ch2 2-band, but prefer my Ch2 2-band over my Thäter 26 mm 2-band.
If you want soft face feel and badger, go the Thäter route.
If you want slightly more backbone, go for Simpson 2-band....
