As the title suggests, what's your favourite St. James of London scent?

From all reports these creams produce one of the best lathers going around.  I'd love to get your thoughts?

My personal (hands down) favourite STJoL cream  scent is Lavender & Geranium - followed by Cedarwood & Clarysage.
L&G is characterized (by the company) as unscented, but I completely disagree, as the (floral/herbaceous) scent is, at least, mild-to-moderate in intensity (and quite pleasant), from my perspective. The creams are soft, and lather easily - and perform very similarly to T&H, and GFT - which are also made by Creightons.

I had the same question as you so I ended up buying a sampler pack of shaving gel's and creams just to be able to see what the scents were like.

Sandalwood & Bergamot - very nice cologne type bright sandalwood scent that is stout
Mandarin & Patchouli - incredible refined citrus masculine scent

I also own Cedarwood and Clary Sage which I like quite a bit and Black Pepper and Lime which for some reason I'm on the fence with.

I have tried them all, and Mandarin & Patchouli is by far my favorite. Very subtle yet classy scent IMO.

I think if you held me at gunpoint, I would pick Mandarin & Patchouli over the Sandalwood & Bergamot.  Its a tough one though.

I concur.
FWIW - I am not into orange-oriented fragrances (versus lemon), but find the scent of M&P to be quite nice, indeed.

I have Mandarin & Patchouli which I agree is a subtle classy fragrance.  Recently I tried a sample of Cedarwood & Clary Sage and my wife noticed and commented on how much she liked it.

Needless to say I will be placing and order for Cedarwood & Clary Sage : )

I'd like to try this brand. Any difference between the tube and the jar?

My favorite scent in the SJoL line is Sandalwood and Bergamot. Black Pepper and Lime is a close second.

I agree with the previous post about Lavender and Geranium being far from unscented. It definitely has a scent.

As per Trumper's Head Office (with whom I spoke today), their creams have always been made in house. Not exactly sure what to make of their response, since I’ve always (many years) read that it was made by Creightons.
(Either the representative is unaware of their history, or, misinformation had been promulgated through the years on shaving fora.)

With all due respect none of the large companies make their soap/cream in house.

Penhaligon ?
Floris ?
GFT?
TOBS ?
TF&H ?
DR Harris ?
Acqua Di Parma ?

None !

Okay, Sapo Varesino, Klar and Haslinger make their own. But are these big names ?

Indeed, Claus, most of the of the big companies outsource — so I'm still skeptical of Trumper’s claim.
However (FWIW), I have just found a bit more info, on one of the UK shave sites:
“A member of…said that he had spoken to Trumpers about their cream and they confirmed they had brought it in-house, but they still outsource their shaving soap.” [italics mine]

As an aside, wondering what extent Procter & Gamble (AoS, Gillette) makes their creams.

Well, as I've said before. Just because two different brand creams are made by the same company doesn't mean they're at all the same. When companies put out a bid for quotes on a manufacturing they usually include specs. They may not make it in house but it was developed in house.
