Had a Rooney Beehive 1 in heritage 3 band, was a wonderful brush. The knot and hair was very nice, was lucky to have no scritch and just a touch of scrub, performance was awesome as is most Rooney's I've had. Being 3 band it splays very easily but my size 1 had a lower loft which helped manage the splay. I ended up gifting it to a friend because he prefers smaller brushes and this to me was just a tiny bit small for me, I imagine the Beehive 2 size would the size I would want at a minimum.
Very comfortable handle..with a knot that performs well and if the hair is similar characteristics as the Beehive 1 I bought about 10 months ago it should be a wonderful brush.

I have both the 1 and 2 in Super Badger. I don't use them often as I prefer my Simpson brushes. I agree with your description. If I could only have one brush the 2 in Super Badger would leave me happy. I think the OP can buy with confidence.
