If you had to live with a budget soap forever what would it be?  Proraso, williams, VdH, palmolive, arko you know the brands that are only a few bucks and widely available.  I understand they are not all available as readily or as cheaply here in the states but you know what I'm getting at.
This is not a comparison of price but rather in wonder if you had to what budget soap you would be fine using the rest of your shaving life.

Do you have a fixed price limit? I could probably live with La Toja (€2 per stick) or Haslinger (€4 per puck) for a nice long time. I don't know how much Valobra costs in Italy, but if it's like €15 a tub or less that's amazing value for how long it lasts.

I want to keep it more budget minded, and not get into price per gram or price per shave.  After all we can all fudge the numbers to justify our purchase if we have to.  I don't have a price limit but I liken it to pornography and the Supreme Court, you know it when you see it.

Without question for me it would be one of the scents from either Haslinger or Barrister & Mann Latha.

Haslinger.

Arko.  The puck, and not the stick.

If Tabac qualifies a budget, yes, definitely, but really down and dirty budget ...Palmolive stick grated into a bowl.
