Hey y'all,

I know I'm pretty late to this one (15 years actually - haha), but I'm glad I purchased it.

This is my second or third time using this, and I love the smell Biggrin. I knew from the beginning that this wasn't going to last all day on me, but at least it hangs around wayyyyyyy longer than 4711's 40 seconds or so (and it smells way better to be honest). The reps at the store mentioned that this fragrance might be getting phased out soon, but they're not exactly sure exactly when.

Here’s a pic:

Any recommendations on similar or better smelling/longer-lasting vetyver based colognes?

Thanks,
Jack

There are even more.....

Disturbing thing is that I own 90% of the fragrances in my suggestion list....

I went in to a L'Occitane store to buy some shave soap. They had a tester of this out. I tried it, and my whole drive home, I kept thinking how much I liked it. Went back and bought it and the Baux.

Real Vetiver scents Top 4:
Chanel Sycomore
Frederic Malle Vetiver Extraordinaire
Lubin Le Vetiver/Lalique Encre Noir Extreme (could not choose just 3 here)

Light vetiver scents Top 4, not heavy bitter earthy vetiver scents, but light scent suited well for work:
Atelier Vetiver Fattal
Hérmes Vetiver Tonka
Tom Ford Grey Vetiver/Creed Original Vetiver (could not choose just 3 here)

I did the same exact thing as you did, except I hesitated on buying the Baux because of some negative Youtube video review (Watched the video prior to smelling it and buying the Vetyver). I don't know why the reviewer(s) didn't like the scent, but I did. So I might just reconsider and buy the Baux next time Biggrin.

I'm glad you asked Claus this question!

Claus, thank you for listing your preferences this way! Today I just bought myself a bottle of Fine Brand's Clean Vetiver Aftershave after comparing it to their Fresh Vetiver. It's a real nice, light scent. Definitely does not compare to the ones you listed I'm sure, but I'm hoping it'll hold me over for now haha.
