For those of you scuttle nuts out there that have never done business with Julie Moore, you are missing out. As for as I'm concerned, she makes one of the best, if not the best scuttles out there. I am placing a special order for one of her scuttles like the one pictured below, but without the handle.

If you have never seen how she makes these works of art, check out this video.

They are certainly among the best one can get, but for us in Europe the shipping for such a heavy scuttle is rather expensive.

I agree.  I bought an SWK Scuttle from Germany and the shipping was just crazy.

Nice! Julie is a pleasure to work with and is extremely helpful when it comes to making the right choice for your
personal needs. She also makes great pieces.
Enjoy your new scuttle.

My only complaint about the DB 1.5 scuttle that I used to have was about its large "footprint" on the counter.  One without a handle might get around that problem.

Johnny,

That is a very nice scuttle, I had never used one until my son gifted me one for Christmas it's not from Julie at DB but I do have one of her Bill bowls pictured here:

John, that is exactly why I am getting one without the handle.  The last one I had got the handle broke due to my carelessness when I hit the faucet.  That in turn caused the main bowl to crack.

I may have mentioned this before...my wife and I "pass by" Julie's shop on our way back from D.C. every month. I write it that way because she is still off the main road by about three miles. Last December, wee stopped by and spent an hour in her shop discussing her work and looking at her other pottery. She even made a scuttle while we were there. She's a great lady sings very talented. My wife did her best to remove some of her inventory before the end of the year. I saw plenty of scuttles and a brush hold err for face gatherers; however none were available for sale. Some of you are using the scuttles I saw.

Johnny, thanks for reminding me I need to order mine.

Cheers!

That's a beautiful scuttle, Johnny. Not that I've used a lot of different scuttles, but I'm very happy with mine. I also love her brush scuttle. I use one or the other daily.

That was a good video, made me want one from her Smile

that music reminded me of Times Square, with those people playing the flute type instruments and what not in the streets

My DB 1.5 is my favorite scuttle.  I had her place a dribble port in mine which makes adding warm water a breeze.

I find the lather creep catcher feature makes the opening too small. I keep hitting the sides of my brush....

I think if I got another one od have her flair it out so there's more space for my huge hands...
