I've seen a few threads from years ago but with all the new products I'm sure it needs update. I love the convenience of a cream but some are seriously lacking in slickness. What do you guys think are some of the slickest creams?

I got a tub of Simpsons cream with my Duke yesterday and did a test lather with it. Seemed very slick for a cream. Will give it a shave or two shortly. Seemed to be slicker in my hand than even my CF lime.

How is the scent on the  IColoniali rhubarb? I've seen some mixed reviews on the smell and at its price I know some people are on the fence.

I don’t get rhubarb, but what i do get is a unique, deep, oriental bouquet with some notes of damp/earthy woods, cocoa butter and a bit of spice. Intensity is moderate, and doesn’t really hang around post-shave. It is different and I could see some gents being on the fence in regard to the scent, but I for one appreciate it.

Sounds like a winner. I tried a sample of the SJOL out of my sampler pack of all the scents in aftershave and creams and didn't get a lot of slickness out of it. I may be expecting too much compared to my tallow soaps.

I always forget Xpec is somehow a cream, even though it is so hard. With that then, I guess Dr. Selby in the tub can make the list. I find it very slick.

For me, it's the Speick cream. Fantastic lather with a lot of slickness and a wonderful scent. I love this cream. It beats all the English high- end, luxurious creams any time.

SJoL is probably the least slick (for me) of all the creams I mentioned and at first appears to be quite average, however with the right water ratio it indeed still fantastic and superior to many other creams I have used. I did find it to be the most tricky to obtain the very slick characteristics from, and required the most experimentation...but you know, YMMV and all that.... In the end, it is possible to obtain a slick and high quality lather from it, and I have gotten excellent results and I continue to enjoy it.

Dr. Serby is on my list to try Biggrin

This is interesting, now I would say SJOL are the very best creams I've ever tried, but I have not tried Xpec, AdP or some of the other extremely high value creams.  That being said, I do get nice slickness out of SJOL creams, but they aren't as slick or protective as a very nice tallow or even high quality veggie soap (Soap Commander/SV).  There is just something about the SJOL I love though, I feel like they perform very well, they smell fantastic and I enjoy using them immensely.  They are the slickest creams I've tried but as someone else said, not as slick as a high quality soap for me.

I have to agree with this. Speick is extremely slick and also smells very good. I remember I got excellent shaves from it when I had it.
Besides Speick, I have to give it to XPEC for the slickest cream

I read great things about the XPEC. Gifts&Care has it, but it's way out of my bugdet for a shaving cream.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Al's Shaving Products. Fantastic cream and one of the slickest I've used. Also enjoy Baume.be & KMF creams.

I'm the same with Xpec, but currently Connaught shaving has it for around £28 (approx 40 euros). Makes me tempted.

New XPEC is hard but old XPEC is very similar in consistency to AoS creams, i.e. nice and soft.
