I had my first shave with a slant razor today, an ATT S1 with a Kronos handle that I bought from BullGoose (taking advantage of their razor sale).
I really like it. It has good weight and is well machined. The handle is perfect. I love the length, and grip. The shave was fast, intuitive, and close. No nicks. And best of all, no irritation like I would sometimes get with the Merkur 34C. The ATT S1 is definitely a great upgrade. I wish I had bought one years ago. I used a Personna Med Prep blade (also new for me, I normally use Feathers) which worked well.
This will be my new daily driver.
It will be fun to see how it performs over the long haul.

Now use the personna med prep in your 34c and see if you still get irritation.

I also hopped on the BG sale to get an S1 Kronos as well, and VERY happy I did. Of all the stainless slants that have hit over the last 3-4 years, this one is by far the smoothest and truly lives up to the hype for me. As a reference, my current razors I gravitate towards are the Webers, hybrid techs, and Tradere SB. Thanks for the generous opportunity Phil, well worth it.

I switched back to Feather blades and got an even smoother shave. I think the slant makes a huge difference.

I find the S1 to be extremely smooth!
What are you using now?
Eric, I own two S1s and they remain in regular rotation. It's just that lately I've been spending some quality time with the blackbird and Wolfman DEs.

The ATT S1 and S2 were the first razors I found that I LOVED Feathers in. They are even smoother than my normally very smooth Gillette Silver Blue. I get a close shave with GSBs in S1/S2 but wow, I get the best shaves of my life with Feathers in these two razors. There is just something about them that makes the Feather a match made in heaven with the S series.
