Just received this beauty of a brush today in the mail. I saw it on Ebay and snatched it up as soon as I could. Looks to have never been used before as it had some badger funk. I have been after one of this vintage Plissons ever since I saw Merkur Man's Plisson Plexi. The banding on this badger hair is unlike any I have ever seen and the contrast between the bands is striking. Almost made me want to not use it, but that would be silly.

I'm not a collector, so I gave it a couple of lathers with the Zartgefühl Brush Soap and was thoroughly impressed with the softness and lather making abilities of the brush. The knot opened right had excellent flow through. I was able to make a nice thick lather with the Zartgefühl, and that usually takes some work, as it is not meant to be used to shave with. Here is a pic of the tips after gently squeezing the knot of water.

And here she is in full bloom

I do not have calipers handy, but from my crude measurements it looks to be a 20 mm knot, which would make this a size 10. Though it's only 20mm, this brush feels more like a 26mm knot in use. I have it lined up for tomorrow's shave and am psyched to put it through it's paces.

Actually more comfortable than I thought it would be, given that the handle is essential a square versus a round shape. For size reference, here it is next to a Wiborg basket which is based on the Rover shape.

And for knot comparison here is a top down view. The Wiborg is a 26mm and is on the right.

As far as softness, truly pillowy soft. The tips are all slightly blunted but does not feel like gel tips that I've tried before.

Yes now that you mention it I remember seeing that brush listed on the BST. I got extremely lucky being able to nab this one as it wasn't out of my price range.

Thank you, definitely unlike any 3 band brush I have now.

Thank you Nathan! I agree that they look very similar. The pictures on the listing were not the best quality, but I was able to make out some similarities to your brush nonetheless which convinced me to jump on it.

This batch of European White is spectacular! It performs like two band hair in my opinion. I have a couple of vintage HMW that I also really love. Too bad you can't find badger hair like this anymore!
