I have a goatee, have had it for about two years. Ok, technically it's a Van Dyke, which my true beard friend taught me....I had no idea of any difference.

I like to get right up against the beard for a clean straight line. I've wet shaved for years with carts & foam. It's been just over a year for DE, brushes and proper soap. Since then I've tried to enhance my trimming with straights, AC Feathers and who knows what else.

The AC was great, a Kami style and easy to
Trim up in there. I bought a Hart and sold off the AC. The Hart didn't work out, so I went to a 6//8 shorty Portland Razor Co. "Sprite." The Sprite is GREAT but during the end of the 11 week wait on the Sprite, I went Shavette searching and found a $14 item on eBay with 100 Derby 1/2 blades. Couldn't pass it up, but it was back ordered...for awhile.

Well, it came today and honestly, it was a great little trimmer. For $14, I wish I found it long ago! Trims the top of my mustache under the nose and cuts a clean edge down the sides. Good stuff!

I'll try that.  I recently purchased a Dovo Shavette, Grunn Shavette and Weck.

I was searching for a Parker SR1 on Amazon and this one popped up. Had to give it a whirl. I'm not a Derby blade guy, but for trimming I figured they'd be fine.

The Parker is nice and really easy to load the blade.
