I'm usually done in 2 (plus some touch ups).
First WTG and then ATG.
Further passes usually results in irritation for me.
My daily driver until recently has been the King Cobra on a UFO handle with a Kai Mild.
Lately I've tried DEs again and have been having favourable results with the Blackbird and Wolfman both with Polsilver and Super Iridium.

1 pass face AGT, 2 pass neck AGT/WTG with touch ups for both that account for odd angled beard growth.

OneBlade with Feather FHS SE.

I do three passes with a Feather AS-D2 and a high-quality vintage blade (e.g. Wilkinson Light Brigade).  Experience has taught me that for me the order of the passes is very important, with WTG, then XTG, and finally ATG giving me close, smooth, error-free shaves.

3 passes with a feather blade and some slight buffing for a daily bbs. On days where I'm experimenting and end up with some sensitivity, I'll skip the third pass. Also switch blades out after 2 shaves...

On the rare occasion I will do three passes, but  most of the time I do just two.

I use either a Gillette Fatboy with a Feather, Polsilver, or Perma-Sharp blade or a Schick I2 Injector with a Schick Injector Blade.

Three passes = WTG, XTG, and ATG

Two passes = WTG and ATG

I do three passes plus touch ups. I'm in the midst of trying to refine my setup, but If I have a few days between shave then I use the ATT H1 with a feather blade. If I shaved the day before, then ATT R1 with a voskhod.

I do 4 passes daily regardless of using a Gem SE, a DE like a FatBoy @9, Fatip, Muhle R41 with Feather blades, or a straight razor. No, they are not uncomfortable shaves or I would not be doing them. You do the number of passes that give you the result you want and are comfortable to do. Everyone is different.

3 passes.  Typically use old Gillette's and the blades are all over the map.

Everything as above except the razor.

As many passes as I need.

Generally three passes, however, including the touchup on the 3rd pass.

Whatever I use, it is usually three passes, plus an occasional touch-up pass. This week, it's a Schick Krona with a Feather blade.
