Hello from Maine. Happened to meet this interesting fellow here in Maine and it turns out that he is a regular Blade shaving aficionado and makes some great Aftershaves and soaps. Krampert's Finest that is. Well after a short conversation that have led to many lengthy discussions. I have decided to jump in to the wet shaving world. My only other experience was with a Straight razor a few years back and a cheap brush and drug store soap. With no knowledge and no instruction I was satisfied with the results. I had no idea about building a proper lather or pre and post shave treatments.

I decided that I wanted to try a Dovo Shavette with an assortment of DE blades as a way to step back into blade shaving.  I chose a decent synthetic brush and Krampert's Frostbite soap and both of his aftershaves. I am anxious to learn a lot more in the coming months, and plan to purchase both DE and SE razors to fully appreciate all aspects.  Any and all advice is welcome. Thanks. Jamie. Brunswick, Maine

Welcome to the Nook.

Since you're the Squid, does that mean that you are often at the seaside?

It actually is a nickname that Navy sailors use to describe themselves and fellow sailors. I was in the Navy for 13 years and still work for the Navy building Destroyers in Maine. I have lived up and down the East Coast my entire life never more than 10-12 miles away from the Atlantic ocean.
