Folks,

I used to love Proraso Green for many years before I (recently) bought a tub of SNM, and have to report it is an exceptional cream (probably the best cream in the world?). The post shave skin feeling is phenomenal. Combining it with Proraso aftershave splash, my face feels smooth and conditioned for 24 hours after the shave. Awesome fragrance too. Consider this - I used to find shaving such a chore, but with SNM I look forward to shaving daily. BTW I use an exceptional brush to go with the cream - the Shavemac 944 D01.

If there is one area that SNM lacks a bit as compared to Proraso - it is the razor glide. With Proraso I could shave the same area multiple times even after the cream had washed off and it would be super smooth. Not so with SNM - since SNM washes off quickly.

So I thought - why not combine the best properties of both creams and create the ultimate SUPER cream. The one cream to beat them all. Incidentally both creams are made by the same manufacturer.

Tomorrow morning I will experiment with it. I will first load SNM as usual, and then twirl the brush couple of times in Proraso Green. Lets see how the experiment goes. Will post results tomorrow.

BR,

Mohan

Which version of SMN are you using? Version 3 one of the slickest creams with the best glide I have ever used.

Are you referring to the original SMN? I don't think Proraso makes SMN anymore.

I couldn't imagine paying that much for a cream only to make it better, by adding Proraso to it.  If I had to add proraso to Pannacrema Nuavia to make it better, it'd be out the door.

I concur. SMN V3 is the slickest thing I have ever tried.  To me, it has more slickness than XPeC, MdC, ABC, BP and AdP.

Agree with the rest, SMN is the slickest soap I've ever used. Also, I believe production of V3 of SMN was brought back in house.

That's it.

I have to get the SMN v3 version now.
I only own the SMN v1.

Some say v1 is identical to Proraso Green, I say it's an upgrade to Proraso Green.

So I tried out the superlather combo today morning - SMN + Proraso Green and happy to report that it was brilliant. I used an old razor - a Gillete Mach 3 Turbo which has been used about 9 times, and noticed that the lather was more protective than when using either of the creams individually. Essentially the razor did not feel 9 shaves old and the post shave skin feeling was superb. Will continue with this experiment to see where it goes. Its SMN V3 BTW and I have no qualms mixing it up with other creams.

Agree 100%.  Once I got SMN v3, I sold my full tub of MDC.
