Hey guys!
i have seen a couple pages down this segment, and i have not found people from far away, i guess then i am the first (i have not seen them all) From Paraguay! It's very warm and nice in here, the disadvantage is that we have not amazon or ebay, and in case we buy from there the shipping is astronomically expensive, anyway, i am quite new into wet shaving, relatively. And i dont have a big den yet, actually my den has about 5 soaps, and i have a couple shavers, some brushes, but not much more either.
I would love to learn from here, and discuss some topics along with you.

What's the state of the market like there? What can shavers readily buy? Are traditional products still available?

There is not much, truth to be told, there are a couple brands that actually sell quality products, there is Nivea here, i got a Nivea Boar brush, as weird as it can sound, and as for brushes the only manufacturer that is to be found is Condor, they make combs, and hair brushes, but they have 3 kinds of shaving brushes, horse/synthetic, horse alone, and boar.

I have the boar, and it works great. As for creams, i already said nivea, and there also is Dr. Selby, an uruguayan ointment manufacturer, they have some creams: lavender, traditional, mentholated, sensitive and another line from them called "urban care", that also have shaving creams a green one and a blue one, i have no idea of the differences, but mainly i would say the smell. Performance-wise, i guess they are up to par, i have no other creams that the dr selby and nivea, but their lathers can easily compare to proraso, they are slick enough and have nice volume and cushion. I have not seen yet (as local market) any new safety razors, i have seen a couple vintage: a gillette superspeed and a red tip, which i wanted to buy, but then i guess someone got it before me.
As for blades the only i have found are a version of gillette red blades made in brazil which i have found not to be very good.
I guess that is it as for the local market.

Thanks!
I was actually born in Bolivia, but i live in paraguay since i am 12, and spent my whole growing up process here, so i am more paraguayan than bolivian, anyway, i learned to shave here, so i believe that is what really counts!  Biggrin
