Any Gillette Tech knockoffs other than the Lord L5?

I know the Lord L6 is based on a Merkur head.

I watched a YouTube video today with a older guy shaving w/ a GT & how great they still are.

I've read lots of reviews on the Lord L5/L6 razors & learned that a higher price does not always equals a better shave.

I have also learned with mild razors go slow for a more efficient shave.

I have a 1960 F3 Gillette Fat Boy that has seen better days.

Feather AS/D2 is pretty close. Techs are also pretty easy to find on eBay.

The links works but there are no razors even with ad blockers off.

Looked on Bokers site some of 'em look like EJ/Merkur & Weishi rebrands?

Gillette Tech's were made for decades and varied substantially. There are no inexpensive knockoffs of this. Triangular base plate Canadian Tech Your best bet would be a original vintage Tech. Nickle plated brass that will continue to last decades to come.

iKon Razors OSS has a Tech side and a New side.

The Tech side is about as close to the much sought after Brit "hybrid Tech" as you can get.   It shaves similarly to the triangle slot Canadian Tech.

Thanks for the info, pics & links - but for that ikon price I can get a handful of originals.

Favorable reviews from CheapShaver on YT for the Lord L5/L6 razors.

Just buy a freaking Tech.  There's no substitute except for the Feather AS-D2, in my opinion.

Feather Portable

Out of production for a few years, but a great tech clone if you can find one.

Does not shave like a Tech!  Beware if you are looking for a nice mild "tech" shave!

The Ikon OSS Tech side is the real iKon "Tech".

Indeed. Michael, if you mean the iKon Shavecraft Tech, it's one of the most aggressive razors available.

I have yet to meet a razor more aggressive than the Ikon Shavecraft Tech. On my face, it's beyond the R41 (2011), ATT H2, Wolfman open comb with the blade gap increased to .74mm, Mongoose with a Feather Super Pro, etc.

As I understand it, Gillette makes a "modern Tech" for sale outside the US: Gillette 7'O Clock Sterling

I've never tried one, so I can't vouch for it,  Apparently, it's aluminum and plastic.  I recall reading about it in some thread about Gillette bringing back DEs via Art of Shaving stores.

The Rimei razor is supposed to be a more substantial Tech knockoff.  Haven't tried one of these either.

Of course, a vintage Tech is a cheap, durable option.  I love mine!

I have the Sterling, made in India. It's not bad. Top caps are interchangeable with vintage 1964-later US / British Tech. But I do wonder what the reason is for not getting a US or British Tech. Is there some desire for new-ness as opposed to new-to-you-ness?
