Just curious - just bought some more PolSilver SI blades because I wanted to make sure I had "plenty."  When I went to the box in which I store all my blades... It was full.  Smile

500 PolSilver SI
400 Gillette Silver Blue
200 Feather
200 Astra SP
100 Derby
100 Merkur

...guess my blade purchases sorta got outa hand?

LOL - yeah probably - and that's just with the PolSilvers.  Smile

Wife sorta had me put the brakes on w/r to blades - but I reminded her that we'd spend that much on one year's worth of those expensive cartridges.  Plus, she loves my skin after I shave now almost as much as I do.  Smile

In all seriousness I've never counted.

I would estimate I have somewhere between 2,000 and 3,000 blades total.

My largest one time purchase was for 900+ vintage Gillette Spoilers. I've got a few hundred Schick Krona Chrome as well as Schick Plus Platinum. 500 or so Personna Med Preps, a couple hundred Labs, and more than a few boxes of various carded types of Personna blades from the 60s and 70s from England and the US.

On top of those I've a hundred plus Feather that I try to like but don't really enjoy. The rest of my blades are less than 50 each of modern blades like Kai.

Oh, almost forgot I had that 100 pack of Rockwell blades in with my new razor the other day..

One of my favorites, of which I probably only have 200 of are Sears blades. Not sure who actually made them at the time, but I enjoy using them and buy them whenever I do see them. They're pre barcode but I don't know what years they're really from.

I have a box of Ted Pella PTFE SE blades and a lot of injectors of various vintage too. Haven't used anything but DE in a long time though.

Um... I've never typed it out before like this. I'm sure I'm forgetting some. I guess I'll have to break down one day and take a real inventory...

I think I have enough.
For now.

Angel

I have just over 900 blades now, virtually all Wilkinson Light Brigades.  Since I use one blade per week, I have enough to last me until I'm 85.

It's not time to panic yet but people have longer lifespan right now though there's probably not 100s of light brigades for sale still.

I'll put it this way, I only use vintage blades, I shave every day, I have enough Personna 74s to last about 12 years and enough others for an additional 8. And if I need them about a years worth of current models.

I really don't know how many I have.  This thread, though, makes me think I should buy some more.

True, but I don't think my wife will let me shave with blades (or drive, for that matter) beyond my mid-80s.  She already has suggested a couple times that I think about switching to an electric razor, since I have a slight hand tremor now.

1300+ Derbys
300+ Astra SP
300+ Shark SC
300+ Feathers
And maybe 50-60 mixed samples (Rapira, Astra SS, Merkur, Polsilver, etc.)
Personally, most of the brands I've tried perform about the same for me (even Merkurs) so I bought 1000 Derbys when I saw them on sale.  Shipping was free and with taxes included they worked out to seven cents a blade.  And I kid you not,  I've had perfect  BBS  shaves with Derbys in my '56 Super Speeds.

I have enough for two lifetimes and I only use a blade twice, so the count is pretty high. Confused

Just need to be more careful. I remember when I was using electric shaver. I don't believe it can beat a good DE razor.
