That's a beautiful brush.. Everything about it is just perfect! Love the handle, knot looks superb! Definitely looks much bigger than the Paladin, at base specifically.
Exactly how heavy are these brushes? Just to put things into prespecitve

First use tonight was excellent, pure luxury. The SV HMW made creamy, slick, and very protective lather from a puck of Dolomiti.

The knot is very dense with enough splay to release the lather freely. There was a bit of scrub and zero scritch; really felt great on the face.  I had no troubles controlling the lather and there was more than enough for three passes.

The brush feels solid and not unusually heavy. The balance makes it comfortable for loading and lathering.

For me, a winner from Saponificio Varesino.  I look forward to this being a staple in my den.

Sorry if this gratuitous gushing is annoying but- I want to use this bad boy every shave. Today the face feel was perfect and the lather was especially creamy. Bravo SV!

The bloom is bigger than the 28 mm Romera Manchurian knot that I have. Just saying.

FYI: I put my cheapo caliper on it and the knot is at least 30 mm where it meets the handle.

I was wondering about that, my eyeballs told me this was just as wide if not wider than my 30mm knots at the base. Glad you measured it and confirmed! Not sure why they are calling this a 26mm knot.

Wow, 30mm+! Is there any glue-bump--sorry if I missed this in the earlier posts. To get an idea of density, would you compare with other brushes? Thanks.

No glue bump detectable in mine, it is quite dense, more so than my Romera and Shavemac 30mm knots, pretty close to Chubby density IMO, but the flow through is better.

Thanks Steve and Chris. That knot looks gorgeous and if the wooden handle is marfin quality, I'm a happy camper. Almost went for the olive wood but ended up going with the same setup as both you fine gentlemen. Took the opportunity to order a couple of soap pucks and another bowl...my son broke the last one I had. Will post pictures when it arrives.

The project started from a 26mm knot

I asked for extra density knot…. then again for extra density…. and again.
So the result was been: 26mm knot, on the paper…. but boosted…. do you remember  the NOS in  “Fast and Furious” ???

Fair enough. I can appreciate your reasons for not disclosing the manufacturer. Thank you Smile
