Thanks German.  Is there anything in your collection that these knots would compare to?

These knots are outstanding!! I would compare them to the Manchurian two band knots that Alessandro at Panta Rei uses.

Calipers showed the knot to be around 30mm.  Aren't these sold as 26mm?  Or do I have that wrong?!?  Even when compressed the knot only gets down to 28 or 29mm.  Great brush.

My knot is more like 28-30mm and I love it.[Image: 05f70ea8646da5bc80aa37b47d14d703.jpg]

The knot measures at the opening (post pewter ring) around 28mm. It may very well be set at 26mm.

Face feel is similar to Elite Manchurian, i.e. soft tipped, medium dense. The medium density allows for great flow through and a forgiving face feel adding to the soft tips.

The pewter ring is a matter of taste. It gives an otherwise uninspiring handle something special. it is not uncomfortable to hold but has quite a heft. Some may not like it.

Prices have crept up as of late. From a value perspective, I would recommend an Elite Manchurian knot with a custom handle over SV. But I like variety, so I got myself both a gold and silver pewter ring.

Thanks for the insights German.  I have an Elite HMW but not a MW.  I'll have to compare them when I get one down the road.  I do like a somewhat looser knot and the SV has a good combo of firmness and flow through.  I agree the pewter ring is the center piece of the design and it is comfortable for me to hold.

For those of you that have the faux horn resin handled brush, how heavy does it feel?

New here, first post. I joined to tell my story about this brush. I did as much research as I could. Much info. came from this site Ordered the Ebony with gold pewter ring. Came from Fendrihan. Used for 6 days, noticed no loose hairs day 1, Day two a couple, day three 4,day four seven.....day 6 the knot fell out! Called Fendrihan and left a message, within 5 min. they called back, they had already sent me a return mail label b/4 they called me. I boxed it up, put in the mail at 10am that day. Got E-mail an hour ago, replacement is on the way. Fendrihan did take care of the problem and did it fast. For the brush, I loved it....Now for technical info. on the knot and handle. That pewter ring, fastens to the handle, the knot sits in the ring on the wooden handle, epoxy is on the base of the knot, the knot is not in the wood. I realize things fail, mine failed and Fendrihan made it right, I'm sure the new one will serve me well for years to come. It is a magnificent brush

Welcome to TSN zipper.  I'm glad the vendor took care of the problem so quickly.  This brush is generally very highly regarded.

When you have a chance please post in the Introductions section, so our members can give you  a proper welcome.
