Does anyone know anything about the "Diane" safety razor? I work in an adult foster care home, and after struggling to shave a client with Target brand disposables over the year, I'm looking to purchase an affordable DE razor that we can use. So far, this is the only DE I've been able to locate here in Fargo without scouring antique stores, but I know nothing about this company. Does anyone have any experience with the Diane DE razors?

No, I have not used this brand. I would guess that this is a very cheaply made razor that will not hold up for very long. It might be worth a try, but generally new razors in this price range are not very good. You might be better off if you can find a vintage locally.

Are you required to purchase locally or is this just a preference?

There are some pretty decent vintage razors in the sell/trade forum right now.

That's where I'd look, or hang a WTB shingle up in it stating what you're looking for. Most folks here are pretty honest as far as condition and pricing.

The problem is that it has to be purchased using cash, as my client does not have a debit/credit card. I would purchase one for him online, but we're not allowed to make transactions in which money changes hands between clients/staff.

It looks like a knock-off of the Feather Popular, with the metal head and plastic handle. It might shave well, it might be a horror - hard to tell, since I can't find no reviews of it online.

I have found out that it is most likely manufactured in Pakistan, but that's about as much as I've been able to find. The company also makes straights for disposables, and some of those have gotten decent reviews.

Shame you'll have to buy in cash though, it makes life more difficult Sad

The Diane brand is sold mainly at barber supply stores and probably made in China. If you have a Sally's beauty store in your area they sell several very inexpensive and decent safety razors.

It's risky to buy cheap junk. Spend more, get more quality. Really.
