I have an SBS, and although I like it, I think the head is just too heavy.  As you know, it's made of brass and it's reversible, supposedly for varying levels of aggressiveness.  I don't really notice that much difference from one side to the other, and I don't really need the razor to be variably aggressive........so that got me thinking.  A fair bit of the mass of the head is in the reversible baseplate.  If it had a flat baseplate like the Tradere, it would likely be considerably lighter.

So, I contacted James at Wolfman to see if he would be willing to turn the reversible baseplate into a regular baseplate.

Is that crazy?  Will I get enough of a difference in weight to make it seem worthwhile?  If I get it back and decide I really don't like it, would it make it impossible to sell?  Any other thoughts about my sanity (or lack thereof)?

If you don't like it now there is a 50/50 chance you will like it modified.

Seems a little rash to me. You could always sell the SBS and buy the Tradere that's in the BST right now.
