Great review Claus.  Where does this cream compare to Meissner?  I have been on the fence to try Esbjerg.
Thanks

Thanks to Claus and the other fine folks on this forum, I bought a tub of Esbjerg Orange Vetiver a couple of weeks ago. Today I enjoyed my third shave with it. Tremendous stuff, right up there with XPEC, Wm Neumann, Baume.be and Meissner Tremonia shaving paste.

Can anyone post the current ingredients on the shave cream? I have come up empty and they do not post it on the website.

It is also a beautiful store to visit, if you are in Vienna. It's in the thick of things in the first district and both owners and the staff are very friendly and helpful! I can't wait to visit them again around Christmas this year...

In addition to an amazing cream, Esbjerg also has what I consider one of the best aftershaves I have ever used.  The aftershave milk is perfect, kind of a heavy splash but not sticky whatsoever.

I agree with all the praise given to Esbjerg creams. I bought the grapefruit about a year back and have never looked back. I too use and rate very highly Baume.be. Another cream that I rank up there with these two is Nancy Boy. Claus (or others) - if you have tried Nancy Boy creams I would be interested to hear your thoughts on how it compares to the likes of Esbjerg and Baume.be.

Been using Esbjerg products for the past year. All their products are top notch. Even their canned shaving gel. Yeah....that's right...I said it. Shave gel. Great stuff when you're in a hurry.

I received two samples from this company once, a cream and a aftershave gel. Liked both a lot!

Is there any site that sells samples of these creams? I want to try this cream but I prefer to try a sample first before buying a tub.

Also, which one of them has the least mild scent?

Is it soft like a normal cream, or hard like Xpec?

The surface tension is pretty firm, but once you break through it is pretty soft.
I load my brush like a soap from the tub, I don't scoop Esbjerg out (some may though!), and dipping the tips probably won't do you any good.

Thanks for your review, Claus!
I share your enthusiasm for Esbjerg cream and after shave products.
Esbjerg also fulfills Austrian eco standards, something I consider quite important.

Would I rate Esbjerg higher as the other products mentioned?
Tough question.

I tried and liked Baume cream and balm samples a lot, but did not buy. My memories are weak which is my fault, not the products'.
I should retry some day.

Xpec cream is very good, combined with their as balm Xpec gave me a rash quite often. The scented version is smelling .... odd. My gf stepped out of the shower, looked at me (shaving with Xpec scented) and stated that it smelled like ... urine. While it is not that bad, it certainly hints there. I do not think it is unpleasant, but it certainly is polarizing and odd.
Unscented Xpec cream smells of nothing and their unscented as balm smells musty and slightly unpleasant.
I will use up this stuff and will not rebuy.
Best bought from o-lorenzi.it for 37EU, but not my cup of tea.

I really do like St. James of London, their clarysage & cedarwood is a great cream, smelling great and quite a good match for Terre d'Hermès.
While TdH cream, as and perfume are slightly more complex and better smelling, TdH cream slightly beats StJ cream performance, TdH cream is no longer produced and StJ cream good enough to never buy anything else again.

TdH perfume and as balm I will never let exspire here and StJ cream is a nice substitute for TdH cream.

I do think all products mentioned have a performance great enough that you simply cannot wish for much more. Differences are there, but imho sublime.

As stated above, Esbjerg meets eco standards.
This puts it in my personal appreciation slightly above it's very, very good competition.

Thanks Gentlemen for your comments.

I used the Orange Vetiver for this days shave, and got a great 3 pass shave out of it.

First pass with the ATT Atlas H open comb plate, the Esbjerg cream provided excellent protection for this quite aggressive razor combo.
2.nd and 3.rd pass with the Atlas M open comb plate went smoothly.

Great slickness and great performance for a great shave.

How firm is the cream to the touch in the jar? Is it soft enough to just scoop some up and toss on the face to face lather?
