Progress is being made on the Rx SE razor. I received 3D pictures the other day and hope to have prototypes soon. Here is a quick teaser picture of the head assembly. I will take pictures when the model arrives.

There is a tongue and groove that allows the top cap and base plate to slide together. This assembly screws into the handle which keeps the blade firmly in place. It will be clearer when I have the model. Here are a few additional pictures that do not necessarily answer your question but...they are cool.

Makes a lot of sense. Smart design with the best from Mongoose and Cobra. Are you doing the designing and CAD yourself, Phil?

Thank you. I had a product engineer design the razor with my input about 3 years ago. This was prior to the Mongoose. The design then had to be modified slightly to make it more easily machinable. I am not doing the CAD myself.

I didn't mean to imply that you took design cues from those razors, just that your design eliminates the main issues I see with each of those models. Keep up the awesome work! We're all looking forward to it Smile.

Biggrin  Thank you Shane. I was definitely influenced by the Cobra; it was my daily driver at the time. I learned about the Mongoose after I had the first drawings made.

I agree.  I think this combines the best points of a Mongoose (blade clamping) with that of the Cobra (slim head).  Looks like a winner to me and will indefinitely be on my shopping list.  I hope you won't be capacity constrained like so many high-end razors seem to be.
