Has anyone tried the new Razorock boar brush? I love the look of the handle and the length of the knot. There's another brush with the cherry wood handle.

I had the plastic version (same knot I believe) and it served its purpose. At its price point was a fine brush. I'm more of a short loft type of guy.

It looks like that is the knot out of a omega 10049 pro. If so, I will tell you that my omega 49 is my favorite brush.  I have high end badgers, synthetics and other omega, semogue and zenith boar.   Broken in, that brush is unstoppable.   Triple milled soap, it devours.  Creams, it can become dainty.  Croaps, makes short work and all while feeling lovely on the face.  Bowl latherer, no worries the 10049 has your back.  It even lathers with the soap's that are known as more difficult (MW and MWF).
For me I don't mind the handle either because I can use it in the shower, or throw it in the sink without worry.
So in summation, if you like that handle and it is the 10049 knot, I wouldn't hesitate to get it.

I have used Omega knots for years (mostly via 48s) and have been using a Zenith boar for about 6 months. The Zenith knot is denser and the hair fiber is finer. IMHO - Zenith is a better quality knot (even though it I would prefer to have it in a higher loft).

Wow, Harry! A flat-top boar would splay immensely on your face and, probably, cover your entire face! Biggrin

I agree.  However IMHO, that's why I find the Omega a better boar brush.   Not saying zenith is bad.   Nice brushes and those aluminum handles are nice.

No, I have the pro 48 &49 & the 10098. They dont feel the same. My 506 had soft tips out of the box with good splay, the omegs didn' t. I had to break them in, 3 times and the RR 506 was broken i. One of my favorite brushes.

Yes, it feels like my Zenith brush. I believe the knot is Zenith. There is an ebayer who sells various zenith brushes. Zenith are also made in Italy close to Omega.
Zenith are fast becoming my favorite brush. Their knots are far are better than Omega or Semouge. Omega uses thick hairs which are rugged and last a long time, but tend to have too much back bone. Semouges use thinner hairs are softer but have less backbone. Zenith are perfectly of both worlds.

I really like the looks of these brushes, but like my omega 48 I feel like they splay too much. I'm looking into getting a custom with a lower loft, hopefully that helps some.
