Hi guys, I am new here... I have north of 30 brushes and my favorites are shavemac, Thater and Rooney. Lately I am more in Two Band brushes.

I am looking for company for my Duke 3 Two Band. My Duke 3 is a 25/49mm knot bulb shape with wonderful soft tips. I am looking at different Simpson 2 bands right now: PJ 3 (not found any actually), Polo 8, Tulip 3.

One vendor just got in stock 58/59 in Two Band. Does anybody have experience with them and how they compare vs. the Duke 3 Two Band in density and softness of tips.

Thanks!

Thanks! It is really one of a kind. I got a lucky pick here. That's why I am not sure if I should try my luck again ... or simply be happy and let it go ... Smile

Welcome to the forum, firstly. i did not find the Duke 3 two-band to be overly dense, but a great brush, nonetheless. You could consider the Rooney Heritage Stubby 1XL or 2XL as i find they are denser and softer than the Duke 3 two-band. Good luck.

The 57 in two band (AKA "Douglas") is an excellent brush,so I bet that 58 is another good brush too.
Thanks for sharing the pics. The Duke 2 band is another good brush, but too firm for my actual taste.

I have not tried The Duke in 2-band. I have a Duke in best and Manchurian. The other brushes you mention that I have tried are the PJ3, Polo and Tulip 3. I preferred the PJ3 and Tulip 3. For these three brushes in two band, it comes down to the ergonomics of the handle and how I feel about the brush in my hand.

Congrats on the 58. I have both a Duke 3 two band and the 57 "Douglas". The 57 is, without a doubt, my desert isle brush.

I hope your 58 performs as well for you.

I'm interested is hearing your experience with the T3. I had a T2 (also two band) and it wasn't able to displace my 57.
