Trying to post a SOTD image, I did as I've usually done; hotlinked from my blog. Didn't work as it usually do though; the image showed up happily enough in the box where I type, but in the post preview only the img-tag showed... kinda odd, as the image below shows.

Luckily imgur can help, but I like the convenience of just uploading to my blog and linking from there.

Just me, or?

It is probably that size code you have at the front (the 800x1422) that is throwing off the code parser in the preview block. Did you test to see if it showed when you posted it, not just as a preview?

The size code have worked fine in the past - ie before Saturday. Didn't try to post it straight up, because the linked photo is... not small.

Yea, that might be another issue Smile Can you provide a link to the image so I can test? I don't fancy having to copy that string from the screenshot.

I've just started experiencing issues with imgur today Hans.

I receive the error message from imgur.com "The image you are requesting does not exist or is no longer available."

I was able to post the image ok :

[Image: 2016-03-21%2B06.11.23.jpg]

Maybe its just a glitch, or its connected to the image size selected not being a correct resize....

Code:
[img=900x600 ]https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-44zIKu3tm6A/Vu-JZXOs09I/AAAAAAAACv0/_VcTMsIDMp4FSqJyt8h8SCu5xl2tAOGnA/s1600/2016-03-21%2B06.11.23.jpg[/img]

The site will automatically resize the images to fit in the post - you dont need to resize for that. If you want to resize in terms of megabytes so that the SOTD threads take a lot less time to load when on a mobile device, then just resizing the image the way you have makes no difference at all. You would have to resize the image so that it is smaller in file size. That would be true for your blog as well.

My issue seems unrelated to Hans', however my problem also seems to have resolved itself...

I've had the same issue as OP. Sometimes caused by re-sizing, but sometimes even the default insertion gets messed up. The only solution I've found is to delete everything and try inserting the image again.. usually that works eventually. There's definitely something messed up in the post interpreter.

Yes, the Editor we use in this version of the forum software is not a great editor (I have said this before). However, using imgur to upload images of a reasonable file size (300 - 400 kb) I have had no issues at all.
