Beautiful!  I'm curious, how does the knot of the 58 compare to the one of the Duke 3?  Size, density, etc...?

Almost exactly the same knot in terms of size and density.

D3 is 24 x 48mm (approximately)
58 is 24 x 49mm (approximately)

Here they are side by side...

Thanks!  Very interesting.  I think the 58 looks like a great handle -- similar to the Paladin PK-47, which I have.  Cool that Simpson is doing 58 LE handles.

The fifties handles are particularly ergonomic and too often overlooked...

Well done Ben! Those look like very symmetrical knots and you can't go wrong with tortoise.

Very nice Ben!  I think the tortoise may be the loveliest handle option Mark has ever offered. Enjoy them!

So nice.

Not sure if tortoise > briar or if briar > tortoise now.

Will have to try and get both?

Ben you make my decisions tricky with your nice photos.

Congratulations on the new pieces in your lineup!

Indeed they are.  I have a "Douglas" 57 and quite enjoy the handle every time it comes up in rotation.

I imagine the PK-47 took its inspiration from the 50's series (like the Sherlock is based on Simpson's Keyhole etc).

The 57 is/was an awesome brush!
