I have read and seen alot of people talking about a good lavender scent and how they love it, but I have never tried it.  is there a particular brand soap that has a really good Lavender scent to it?

are they good soaps?  I don't want to spend money on a soap with a good scent but is not a great soap.

MdC or Mike's Hungarian Lavender, if you like earthier/herbaceous lavenders. Castle Forbes or AoS for pure lavender EO scent.

I like CRSWs Savon #1 a lot. To my nose similar as MdC but not that strong.

Czech and Speake Oxford and Cambridge, a nice lavender-mint, Castle Forbes lavender, a pure lavender come to mind.

Barrister and Mann also has some pure lavender in the black label/latha line IIRC.

Cheers, Steve

I've heard a lot of people say that, but I compared them, side by side, and there was not even a hint of similarity.

I don't count C&S O&C or CRSW Savon #1 (MdC, SdM Tempete, etc.) because they are "lavender+" scents - lavender with additives.

If OP is looking for the purest unadulterated lavender experience, s/he should seek out one of:
  • B&M Black Label Lavender / Latha Lavanda
  • Catie's Bubbles Menage a Lavande
  • Castle Forbes Lavender Essential Oil
  • Mike's Natural Hungarian Lavender

I echo DRH (nice, essentially straight English lavender).
O&C, although has a good dose rosemary, and pepper, the quality of the lavender used is very nice, and very high.

B&M Latha Lavanda
Caties Bubbles Menage a Lavande
Castle Forbes Lavender
DRH Lavender
Mikes Hungarian Lavender (amazing)

Lavender + other scents

After that I like Castle Forbes.

TOBS is nice, if slightly artificial.

Mike's is wonderful soap, the Hungarian Lavender is nice, but I didn't think it had much depth. Which is probably why others like it so much. Pure and simple lavender.

One that isn't lavender to my highly unsophisticated nose, but is labeled as such, is Dr. Selby's.  Tongue
Nice soap. Different smell than anything I've tried before. Not a bad smell. Just unique, and lavender didn't come to my mind when I used it.

Harris' scent is very mild though.
I think AoS Lavender cream is nice too, a lot stronger scent and a solid performer. DRH is a better bang for the buck though. And their "Ocean Kelp" definitely has a lavender scent in there, but there's more to it. It does not smell like the ocean, or an "Acqua" cologne.
