Bernd is not responding as quickly to email requests as he once did. I've been trying to find out if he received a brush I shipped him early this month and I've not heard back at all, and this after three email prompts. This is frustrating (not to mention scary that the shipper may have lost the brush), and not at all typical of Shavemac. Anyone else experience this?

When other members of another shaving forum reported that their group buy Shavemac brushes had been reported as shipped, and I didn't hear anything, I sent several emails to Bernd asking about the status of my brush.  I finally heard from the organizer of the group buy that Bernd had told him that he had tried several times unsuccessfully to email me.  So it appears that Bernd is having some kind of major email problems.

Thanks, John. I hate being in limbo like this; that's not usually a service offered by Shavemac.

Isn't this the time of the year when Bernd takes time off?

Shavemac reopened from a week's vacation a couple weeks ago, and the brush was scheduled to arrive just after that. I didn't pay the exorbitant tracking fee since it would have cost much more than the work I wanted done. Right now that's looking like a bad decision.

Bernd was away for Easter and then he had the TSR group buy about 50 brushes, a huge assignment by all counts
I am sure he is just caught up or having server issues,
he is pretty prompt that way

FWIW I've been dealing with Bernd for 6 years and have found him to be unsurpassed in customer service. I emailed him once just after he started his vacation and he got back to me a few days after he returned to work with apologies for having to catch up on the backlog of work.

And I expect he deals with a pretty exacting clientelle - at least from the forums. It's probably not uncommon for him to receive multiple emails per order.

I have also had exchanges with Bernd in the last couple of months on a custom I ordered (before holiday season), and he was very responsive - and the brush he crafted is excellent. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase from him/shavemac again.

Up until now I've had good communications with him. All I want to know right now is if he got the brush; if it's in a queue in his shop, no problem. Otherwise, well, I'd hate losing that particular knot.

Bernd finally contacted me. No brush. It might be stuck in Customs, or it has taken a long, slow ride from the States since March 9th.

I just got a UFO handle shipped from Spain on the 15th. I bet you hear something positive soon.

The plan is/was to transplant the Shavemac 2-band silvertip bulb into a 163 plexi handle. The knot is exceptional, and I've always wanted that handle -- in retrospect it's something I should have done originally. But, positive thoughts. Biggrin
