With the release of Cosmo I can't resist ordering a few Saponificio Varesino soaps.

I already have the original Aromatic Fern and Dolomiti.

I've decided on the Cosmo and the 70th Anniversary, but there's room in the cart for ONE more (only).

So, Manna de Sicilia or Tundra Artica?

Scent on tundra lather from manna for me. I can't get the same stability of lather or cushion out of tundra as i can from all the other scents though it remains slick. Maybe go for the lightly scented dolomiti and get the tundra splash for the scent?

If ordering from BullGoose, I'd recommend Asylum Colonia, but if ordering from SV, I'd recommend Tundra. I prefer the Beta 4.1 formula over 4.0 (Manna).

Good point, I wonder if Phil will stock the Cosmo?

Have not tried Manna but of the 4 I have tried the Tundra has been my favorite in both scent and performance! Fantastic stuff!

Having used both,

Manna to me has a same smell as MWF. It has a production version of 4.0
Tundra well I really have no ability to describe a smell without any example, sorry but the version is new improved 4.1 same as 70Anniversery soap.

So if you give importance to smells in a soap, I dont know which to offer, I like the aromatic fern most.
But if you give importance for a performance on a soap, I would go with the 4.1 version. Dont believe there will be a huge difference but...
Neither nor, this or that, sorry I am aware didn't help a bit Smile
Just but all of them

Here's what I would do. If you're wanting the best SV soap, get Manna. My take on the scent is a darker, citrus wood with hints of floral. The lather on Manna is the best vegan soap I have ever tried. The comments above about the lather performance on Tundra have been similar to mine. The soap is very very slick, but lacking in density and cushion. BUt after following the exact directions they offer from the website to use Tundra helped me get great lather using syn and badgers.

BUT, I would definitely get the TUNDRA aftershave! The scent is stronger and the face feel is very unique, silky on application and fights razor burn and redness like none other.

Tundra Artica...I find the scent more complex, and the performance to be slightly better Biggrin

Manna Ash is the secret ingredient! I think 70th is a close second for in shave performance. I don't go goo goo gah gah over the Manna scent but it's enjoyable enough to use it regularly.

I can't comment on either of those 2 scents but the 70th Anniversary scent is very nice.

To me, Manna smelled very similar to tabac (dislike tabac!) But lighter on the scent. The lather and slickness was better than the Tundra. The Tundra has a much better scent, but the lather was not as good. The soap would dissipate no matter what type of water/loading combination I threw at it. It was slick though.
