Does anyone know if the Saponificio Varesino slate bowl will be offered again for sale, or was it only a limited run?

I have a couple of the Saponificio Varesino wood bowls, but I like the low profile of the slate bowl.

If anyone owns one, I'd enjoy any pictures and any thoughts on it...

Funny, I was just wondering the same thing an hour ago. Maybe we could place a special order.

Great minds think alike.  Tongue

I'm in for a special order if that's what it takes.

Nero Aredesia makes slate bowls. Looks like we could order our own engraving, hint hint. http://www.neroardesialuxuryshaving.com/...duct=66284

Looks very nice, just not sure I woukld spend €50 plus shipping on a bowl for a soap.

Or rather, I would definitely buy 2-3, if i only used 2-3 soaps, and would like a nice presentation for them.

But with 150+ shaving soaps in my collecetion currently, I can't really see the need for one nice looking bowl priced at €50 - I just can't.

I would need either 150 of these nice bowls or none at all, if you know what I mean  Biggrin

looks like Nero Aredesia have a couple - a 4" square for 50€, and a 2.75" square for 30€. might be able to drive that price down a bit with a group order.

It seems like he was insinuating that it did not work out well for him/his company.

May I suggest an alternative? Soapstone is an easily cut and carved medium that comes in a lovely range of colours. Find a lapidary club and they will have members who could slice a lid blank and perhaps a few other major shaping operations. It can be sealed in several mediums including simple linseed oil. I pulled this photo of of EBAY just now.[Image: qTLQdFP.jpg]
