I'm sure most of us can agree that the smell of Penhaligon’s Endymion is intoxicating but my question is about the quality of the cream.

I'm new to creams but just had a very nice shave with the St Charles of London. Absolutely phenomenal product, very slick and plenty of cushion.

How does the Penhaligon’s stack up performance wise to St Charles of London or the other TOBS.

To me the Penhaligon creams are on par with or slightly below the St. James creams in overall quality.

I own 4 Penhaligon creams and 5 St. James creams.

I don't own Endymion cream but I use Blenheim Bouquet cream and I slightly disagree with Claus.  I feel that Blenheim Bouquet cream is top notch and is my top 2 or 3 cream.  If Endymion is anything like BB then you will not be disappointed.

Where have I said Penhaligon is not top notch ?

St. James is just among my absolute favourite shaivng creams along with Esbjerg, Floris 89, Baume.Be and Acqua di Parma.

Penhaligon is slightly behind them - and I own 4 creams from Penhaligon.

Penhaligon is still a top notch shaving creams.

I would rate Penhaligon 9.25/10, St, James will get a 9.50/10, Esbjerg 9.75/10.

That's why I said "slight" Claus....because I like Pen's slightly more than STJL.

But you are correct and I think we both agree Penhaligons is top notch!  I just didn't want the OP to think its an inferior cream!

I fail to understand why you are placing a "top 13" list and announcing how many you own in a thread where the guy just wanted an opinion on Endymion and was wondering where to pick it up for a decent price...

Nervosa A. mellow, it's shaving cream not the elections. B. Clause is known for very astute observations tempered by OCB and a large collection which translates into TMI unless you enjoy TMI like many here.

I know full well that this is about shaving cream, and I understand that Claus will jump at any chance to announce to the world how much product he owns, but the self-centered manner in which he took a thread about Endymion and turned it in to a personal top 13??? list and had to include how much of each product he owned really rubs me the wrong way. I enjoy some of the threads in this forum, and try to avoid his bi-weekly top 25 lists, but now they are embedded in other threads, and it just goes against the spirit of the thing for me. Have an opinion, share it, discuss it a little, and move on. That, I think, is what many are here for....

I'm still interested in someone's opinion about Endymion cream performance. Overall, I'm not terribly impressed with Pens BB or Sartorial creams, although I love the scents, and am somewhat tempted to give Endymion a try.

I found the performance of BB and Endymion to be comparable. I have not had the opportunity to try the Sartorial cream as of yet.

I always thought BB performed better than Endymion.  (this may have been swayed by the fact I really love BB scent and don't care for Endymion… however, I always get great shaves from BB, and I don't think I ever got a great shave from Endymion before selling it.)

Just out of curiosity, were you using the tube or the tub of BB?

Mostly the tube… I have a tub that I've tested once and seemed the same as the tube.

Interesting. The cream in both of the tubes I owned had a somewhat runny consistency and performed fine. I remember the scent of the BB cream being heavenly, but, alas, the parabens scared me away. If they reformulate, I'll be back for sure.
