I tried the new RazoRock Pre Shave soap today and thought I would give my thoughts on it. I've been using MR Glo for a while now and I preferred the RazoRock much more. It's smells better than the MR GLO to me. It has a much stronger lime scent. But even though it's stronger it's still a natural lime scent. The second reason I prefer the RazoRock is it has a thicker lather that just seems to cover easier. However, I can't honestly give an opinion on which one softens the beard better after one use. Any one else use both yet, and which did you prefer?

so is the lime preshave soap something you use like a face wash (wash face with and rinse), then use regular PreShave Gel/lotion (if used) or do you apply to face, leave on and then lather on top of it?

Just wondering where this would fit in my preshave routine. i'm a lime fan, so i'm curious.

thanks,

You use it as a face wash. Wash your face and rinse right before you shave.

Interesting! I always wondered how much pre-shave other people generally left on their faces before lathering. I've been rinsing it off and moving on to lathering with just minimal residue of the pre-shave remaining. I shall give this a try tomorrow.

That's interesting, I might try leaving it on too to see how it goes. I'm worried it might dry my face out to much though.

Interesting. So the preshave soap instead of the GEL. I guess they are similar products and in essence do the same thing.

I'll have to try the soap when my KL preshave gel runs out. Smile

Can the pre-shave soap and regular shave soap be mixed together using your favorite brush.

Yes, the Gel is a soap in liquid form.

I did try this out, forgot to post though! I will say for certain...it did not work for me at least in my initial test. I ended up with a burning sensation. However! This was also during my testing of the Sticky which may have had an influence in my irritation. I shall try it out again with my trusty Fatboy and see if I get different results.

I think it is worthy to add that I give my face a very good scrub while in the shower, so that may be a factor as to why I can't leave it on my already super clean and scrubbed face.

Thanks for the update. I just picked up some ClearlyNatural Aloe glycerine soap tonight at the grocery store & will try it tomorrow. I'll look forward to hearing how your subsequent uses fare.

While I've never tried MRGLO or any pre-shave soap, I'm wondering what the need is. It sounds like the main purpose is (a) hydrating your face (which you should do anyway) and (b) softening hairs (which is what your shaving cream/soap should be doing.)

I've had MR GLO for a long time but was hesitant in using it regularly because of the scent, much too strong for me. RR on the other hand is much milder but it is also "softer". MR GLO I would just lather on my face but RR I lather in my hands and massage it into my whiskers. Joe's article is what I do, no second lather lather though.
Overall, RR preshave soap is great! Give it a try and you might have a new favorite routine.
