According to Stan at ATT, their version will be less heavy than the Mongoose, which will be good news to at least some of us .. nice looking bamboo/wave handle too

I had the opportunity to handle one at the recent Big Shave West, and yes, I'd estimate that it weighs about a third less than the latest stainless steel Mongoose. With its curved cap it also presents a more slender profile. (I've ordered mine.)

The ATT SE head weighs 49g, and the SS Mongoose head weighs 53g.

It's the Stainless Steel Mongoose handles that are so heavy.

The ATT Bamboo handle weighs the same as the ATT Atlas handle, 56g.

Could this possibly be better than the mongoose or the cobra

Definitely following along with this...and also read somewhere wolfman is designing a SE razor that takes the traditional SE blades.
What a time to be a wet shaver! lol

Does anyone know if Stan's 30 day guarantee is going to apply to the pre-orders?  It's very low risk to order one and try it out if so.  I would love to try the head but really don't need anymore handles in the den so I will be waiting for the head only option myself.

Thanks Gary!  I saw it on the pre-order page but was just confused how it works I guess I should have worded the question more specifically.  I couldn't decipher if it is 30 days from receipt or payment but I guess it would only really make sense if it was 30 days from receipt of the razor.

Ordered mine---if the performance is anything like my other ATT razors this will surely be a keeper.

I tried the mongoose but couldn't quite bond with it. Mine was the SS version and was just too heavy for my liking. Looking forward to a comparison of Stans SE with a Cobra or Mongoose Smile

Stan at ATT has asked me to serve as a tester for the new Bamboo SE1. I should have the prototype razor early next week. Will start shaving with it right away and provide my impressions. Have experience with both the Classic and King Cobra and the Mongoose batch 1 stainless and batch 1 aluminum. Will try and do some comparisons. I like all four of those razors. I have not shaved with the new Colonial General or any of the other new SE razors that use the larger Japanese blades. The Cobra and Mongoose seemed to have started a Renaissance in the design and function of the SE razor with a lot of new products just introduced or on the immediate horizon.

I switched back to DE and SE razors about 5 years ago having used various Gillette system shavers since starting shaving with Fatboy and Slim adjustables in the late 1950's in high school. While I used these for years never really figured out how to take full advantage always using one pass and at a high setting. I lost a lot of blood until my acne departed and Gillette twin blade arrived. But switching back has been great and better than the systems once my technique improved. Have always used a badger brush and typically Noxema brush shave cream (I think that was re-branded Proraso) until the profusion of the soaps and creams of today.

I have tried most everything available in vintage and new razors. Have wound up with a bit of a collection suffering  from RAD for the last few years. Have a large accumulation of slants in addition to the normal DE/SE/SB and OC razors.

Anyway, looking forward to commenting on the ATT Bamboo SE1.

Stan's a first rate vendor. I doubt it would be an issue even if it was beyond the 30 days....

Looking forward to some reviews..I've owned quite a few of Stan's creations and have enjoyed the products. Would like comparisons against the Cobra (King/Classic) and the Mongoose...
