Ok so I have an off the wall question, what do you do with the excess lather that you have at the end of your last pass?  When using soaps i use to put it back in the tin and didn't really like it, I hat washing it down the sink.  So what I started doing was taking it and put it in my hands and spread it all over my face and neck and let it sit while I clean out my brush then wash it off.  I figure it can't hurt because it has all of those good moisturizing properties we love so much and my face has been feeling really good since I have started doing that.

Just curious.

I use the excess lather as a balm and wash it away five minutes later. It hydrates the skin and removes any redness or irritation.

I am trying with little success to load less soap. I  merely return it to the puck to dry or flow down the sides and 'cement' the puck firmly in it's container. In the case of Savonerrie du Moulin I do give face and hands a final massage. I sit here until snowflakes begin floating off and my Japanese neighbor thinks I'm a kabuki actor in my old black Zen robe; bows and walks off giggling.

I pull out the excess and use it for a super thick/dense last pass.

I pull mine out of the brush and smear it on my face as mentioned earlier. Really makes a nice slick against the grain pass.

Wash it down the sink.  Dodgy

Never thought twice about letting some of it sit on my face while cleaning up... will have to give that a go next time round!

I wash it down the drain.  I don't get saving unused lather - for what?  A couple of minutes and a few cents worth of soap you've got fresh lather.  But, that's just me.

+1.

Soap is cheap, and I have way too much of it. There is no need to be that frugal with it.

I seem to get the amount I need most of the time, but if I do end up with too much, I load it on extra heavy, which is actually quite pleasant.

I press the rest out of my brush, add it to my face for the touch up pass.

I just use it to wash my face after, I also use the bloom as a pre. I never though of leaving it on a bit for post shave before rinsing it off, I'll try that one

I usually just squeeze out the brush and use it for my final pass, or touch ups.

I just wash it down the drain, but I am trying to get just the right amount with out too much waste.
