I think this may be from a larger set, but country of manufacture uncertain: no markings. It is very highly compact as you can see from the pictures below. The metal case was tarnished and not much evidence of brass. It may be silver or at least have a very thick silver plating. Clearly the rest of the ensemble is brass and copper going by the lugs, etc.

Has anyone seen one of these? I figure it may date from about 1915, but I have no real idea.
