Ok, I've been looking around for a good Lavender AS splash, alcohol based, to go with my Mike's Hungarian Lavender and B&M Latha Lavanda. Just when I think I've got exactly what I want, it turns out to be witch hazel and aloe based. That's happened probably three times now Smile

Any suggestions?

I have a Razorock "king louis" that has witch hazel and aloe but it also has grain-based alcohol. I have it sitting here in my office drawer and only used it one-time...Lavender is not my scent...would trade if you have anything you are looking to move on from.

Orange Blossom Water, Witch Hazel Water, Grain Alcohol, Menthol, Aloe Vera, Jojoba, Olive Oil, Essential Oil of Lavender.

Definitely good stuff there, I use it whenever I'm thinking about buying a new cologne. Never really thought to use it for aftershaves, will have to dig around if I can.

That said, I'd love to hear some suggestions from the forum on earthy Lavender splashes that you use and love.

Sounds good, it's been sitting here in my drawer forever while I was trying to decide what to do with it.

King Louis Lavender Razorock is a staple in my aftershave collection. I love that formula. I would also recommend Agua Balsamica by Myrsol. Sometimes I split the two and use them both simultaneously.

The King Louis is great in performance and scent though it does not linger very long.  Same with Myrsol.  Two of my favorites!

Although neither is pure Lavender, I'm close to trying Crown King NavyGoat or Agua Lavanda Puig. Striking out on true pure lavenders.

One more to consider is Herbs of Bulgaria lavender splash.
Do not know the ingredients, put has no witch hazel, aloe or glycerin (IMHO).
Nice lavender scent but not long lasting. Got mine from Shaveabuck years ago, now out of stock.

http://shavenook.com/showthread.php?tid=9991

Goes well with my Castle Forbes and Herbes of Burgaria lavender creams.
Not easy to find but very affordable when you can.

I don't know if I am allowed to link you to this, but IMO, this is the best Lavender EdT available today.

Puig, Sinatra's favorite! I think I'll grab that as an EDT, but also need a splash.

I think I've landed on the St Charles Bulgarian for a splash. I also may grab WSP True Lavender, I never saw that one until about 5 minutes ago.

Good stuff, thanks guys!

Do you mean TOBS #74? it's a favorite of mine. But it is not a pure lavender and they recently literaly condensed their AS and colognes into a one bottle does all mix.
The people who make MEEHANS sandalwood own a lavender farm near santa Cruz CA. You may consider formulating your own?

I went with a few. WSP has a True Lavender, and I also bought the St Charles Shave Bulgarian Lavender. I have also traded for Erik's King Louis. I'll work through those three for a bit.

I'm referring to their 'Luxury Lavender Water'.  I too have their #74 and it's a favourite of mine.

Chatillon Lux recently put out a line of alcohol based splashes. I rather enjoy their Champs de Lavande scent. They do have witch hazel and aloe vera in the ingredients, but denatured alcohol is the first listed.

I'm a balm guy most of the year though...so I haven't tried their splashes.

It's hard to find, but Floris lavender water is outstanding.  Sadly discontinued.  It was the first fragrance ever released by Floris in 1730.

TOBS and D.R. Harris both make a lavender water splash which can be used as an aftershave.  Cella is said to make a good one.  I am currently using one from Ginger's Garden but not sure how alcohol-based it is.  Wish that Crabtree & Evelyn had not discontinued theirs; excellent stuff.  There are a host of lavenders out there, and a bigger host of lavenders mixed with other things.
