I thought I'd share a few photos of my travel pack.

(Larger images here)

Hardware
  • Edwin Jagger DE89 w/ a Muhle head cover, in an Altoid's tin with foam cutouts
  • Maggard 22mm synthetic brush w/ a Muhle brush tube
  • "99c-only Stores" DE blades made in Israel
(I like the container for the used blade slot in the back, so I don't have to worry about leaving sharps for housekeeping)
Software
  • Palmolive stick in a Walgreens pill tube
  • AoS cream (the "deodorant" container re-purposed)
Aftershaves left to right:
  • Pinaud Clubman
  • TOBS Eton College
  • Razorock XXX
  • Chiseled Face Easy St.

All of it fits into a toiletry bag from MSC Cruises. No "banana for scale" but it's a compact enough kit.

That's a well thought out compact kit.  What do you do when carrying on your luggage and cannot bring DE blades?

I can swap in a Mach 3 if I need to. I also have a more compact brush (Muhle travel synthetic) and wouldn't bring all that software for a quick trip.

I took a photo of my compact version with a Muhle travel synthetic and DE. I'd have to pack the blades in my carry-on or buy when I land - the 99c Stores have 5pk Personna blades that I like.

An Altoid tin is the classic pocket survival kit first created by british SAS. They attract extra attention by the innattentive TSA. Have you had any issues traveling?

My razors are always in my checked luggage because they are DE. And most times that I fly now I do have an "Inspected by the TSA" notice in the bag.
