Came down to Boston this morning for a meeting tomorrow and am staying with my sister and family in Brookline tonight. With Cathie and P.J. I loved their location on Brattle Street next to Harvard but to be honest I prefer the spot they have been in for almost 3 years in Newton with Stoddard Cutlery. Plenty of parking...try Cambridge on any day. I was in both Pasteur's in Manhattan last week and we all know how incredible they are but I always feel rushed. Always did even 12 years living there. Colonial Drug is just my favorite brick and mortar in the US. Has been for years. I can breathe, sit in a chair, and talk shaving (and politics!) Of course they don't have as much inventory as New York but quality nonetheless. How often do we shave a day anyway. They are big proponents of Meissner soaps and paste's. Like Phil & Bullgoose they carry Esbjerg and I asked them to order the new scents. No offense to Haslinger but I think it's sister cream from Vienna (Esbjerg) is the finest shave product made today, cream or soap. It's that good and I have to thank Nero for that.
On to business. Cathie is still in talks with Plisson to procure some of their old HMW hair that Plisson does/might have from the 80's. The good stuff. It's a process (thousand bucks a brush type thing) but they are French and well, the French drag things out. It's ok. Apparently they have it. We'll see. [Image: df57f8de40c0afaabfeeff840655bbf2.jpg]
Across the street at Tommy Doyle's. Great Galway guy. A pint or two (one might be minding the shop,) one of them sitting next to me.Waiting on the Galway Godfather burgers. Amen brothers.

Now I know where I'll visit on my next trip to Boston, as well as where I'll have a pint. Thanks for posting.

Nice pics.  Thanks for sharing.

I've ordered stuff from them over the internet before, but I've never had a chance to see it in person.   Looks like they have almost as much stuff as Claus has at his house!  Angel

You're welcome, it is done with pleasure to recommend Esbjerg. Thanks for the shout back.
Glad you are loving it too.

As a recovering addict/shaving hoarder myself I find this extremely funny!

Nathan, yes THAT hair! Cathie is in talks with Plisson but to be honest it's a process that takes time. It would be great if she can source some of that hair...she's hoping in the plexi models.

It was a nice visit. Literally 2 minutes at most off the Mass Pike in Newton if anyone's in the area.
