As far as I know, the Speick stick comes in two forms, the one we all know in the carton packaging and the black plastic base and the newer version in the plastic travel tube.

Claus, what do you mean by saying stick refill? About the outside protection, all the Speick sticks have aluminum wrapper that you remove once you shave with it.

My La Toja shave sticks came like this - the core (soap stick) on a plastic base and then a plastic tube to place it inside.

My Tabac shaving stick came like this:

Just curious what Speick expects you to do with it, when you travel, if they don't sell it with a tube, do they think we love Speick so much, that we want the interior of our toilet bags covered in lovely Speick soap residue or what  Huh

Palmolive shave stick comes like this, which creates the same problem as with the Speick stick......

Speick shave sticks will fit into empty D R Harris shave stick tubes.

Palmolive Speick and Arko do not have containers/ covers, I just use some tin foil if I'm traveling... at home a covering is not necessary for me.

If I'm away from home (less and less frequent nowadays) I take a tube of cream or a stick of DR Harris.

The shave sticks that do not come in a container can be placed in an old prescription pill container of the appropriate size for travel. Alternately a vintage plated shave stick container just like they did it in the old days. Not really a problem but not as nice a set up as the ones that come with a container.

Same here.

I'll do that too.

But just find it lacking, that they can't provide a tube for the soap, when La Toja can do so, and they charge less for their shaving stick, which IMHO is as good as the Speick stick.

This Speick soap stick is a VERY good performing soap, and I wish they sold it with the tube.

Now I hear from others, that they do now, so I will see if I can get that next time.

These soap sticks are very nice performers for a budget price.

Come to think about it, I'm not sure I'll buy more sticks with all the stock I have in den and my new TF&H No.10 200 ml flexible plastic pot is now my new travel cream.
Excellent performance, no matter the price.

You could always put it in a ziplock bag. I understand that it's not fancy but if you really need to go somewhere it could work in a pinch.

I don't know the size of a Speick stick but Palmolive ones fit in Walgreens pill bottles. They are better than CVS because the caps have a little extra space.

I heard from a very good friend in Germany that the Speick company stopped making the plastic holders for the environment. It sounded plausible so I didn't question it. Many companies were making similar transitions.
